Apr 18, 2019 Try using the free Keka unarchiver from www.keka.io or The Unarchiver from the Mac App Store. I'm not saying that it absolutely does help - however, I do have experience with unarchivers other than the macOS built-in performing the unarchiving 'better'. The gold standard of macOS file transfer apps just drove into the future. Transmit 5 is here. Upload, download, and manage files on tons of servers with an easy, familiar, and powerful UI. It’s quite good. Jul 18, 2007 Transmit.app's icon is a tricky one. I changed it, but whenever I launch the application, the icon reverts back to normal ON THE DOCK. Even if I quit Transmit, the icon stays the default for couple of hours and then reverts back to the custom one until I launch it again (?).
Yes, cron is emailing you - been going on for a while, as OS X doesn't use cron any more!

In Terminal, I think crontab -l will list cron jobs, and cron -r remove them.

Also in terminal mail delete 1 will delete the first message in the queue. I'm not sure how you do many messages - I don't think it takes *, so you could try mail delete 1-680 or mail delete 1.680
The unix mail program was used as a mail client in pre-GUI days. Check which apps using energy mac. OS X Mail is much easier! postfix would manage the mail queue and deliver emails to other computers. postfix is still widely used on mail servers.
